The ivory saree-inspired coat suit featured hand-painted representations of Tamil culture, heritage and temples, while the brown-and-white borders and other intricate details were incorporated to reinforce the connection to Tamil Nadu.
For Sachana, the look became a way of carrying her cultural identity into one of the most significant professional moments of her life.
Maharaja Earned Sachana Namidass National Recognition
Sachana received the National Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Maharaja, the Tamil film directed by Nithilan Saminathan.
The film stars Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role and features Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, Natarajan Subramaniam, Abhirami and Arul Doss in key roles.
