India’s shooting contingent opened its medal account at the Asian Games 2026 with bronze medals in both the men’s and women’s skeet team events, taking the country’s overall medal tally to nine at the time of the results.

The Indian women’s skeet team of Raiza Dhillon, Maheshwari Chauhan and Parinaaz Dhaliwal secured the bronze medal after combining for a score of 331.
India finished behind China, which won gold with 357 points, and Kazakhstan, which took silver with 336 points.
The Indian trio endured three days of qualifying competition before securing a place on the podium.
The result also marked a significant achievement for Indian shooting, with the country claiming its first Asian Games medal in the women’s team skeet event.

Dhillon was part of India’s medal-winning women’s skeet trio and later also reached the individual final. She finished fourth in the individual event.

Naruka, one of India’s leading skeet shooters, also progressed to the individual final. He finished fourth in the individual competition.
