Vrushika Mehta has opened up about how her life changed after moving to Canada following her marriage, revealing how she adapted to managing her home, fitness, beauty routine and content-creation career without the support system she was accustomed to in India.

Known for her work in television shows such as Ishqbaaz, Ye Teri Galiyaan and Satrangi Sasural, Vrushika Mehta has experienced a significant lifestyle change since marrying Toronto-based software engineer Saurabh Ghedia in 2023.

After moving to Canada, Mehta transitioned into content creation while continuing to connect with the audience she had built during her television career. She says the move has changed not only her professional routine but also the way she approaches everyday life.

Vrushika Mehta says life changed after moving to Canada

For Mehta, moving to another country meant becoming much more independent in her daily life. Unlike her routine in India, where household help was available, she now manages household responsibilities herself alongside her content-creation work.

ā€œMy life has completely changed after I moved here. We don’t have any house help here, and we have to manage everything on our own,ā€ Vrushika said.

She also acknowledged that living away from family can sometimes be emotionally difficult.

ā€œSometimes there is a feeling of loneliness with no family around, but I am grateful for all the good things that have happened to me here,ā€ she added.

The change has therefore involved more than relocating to a new country. Mehta has had to build a new routine around household responsibilities, work and personal wellbeing.

Yoga and meditation became part of Vrushika’s fitness routine

Fitness has also taken on a different meaning for Mehta since her move.

She revealed that yoga was not previously a major part of her routine while she was living in India. In Canada, however, she began incorporating yoga and meditation into her schedule.

ā€œI have started doing yoga and meditation to keep my emotional and mental state in check,ā€ she said.

With fewer external support systems and more responsibilities to handle herself, Mehta said following a routine has become important.

ā€œI follow a routine here because I have to manage everything on my own,ā€ she added.

For the actor-turned-content creator, fitness is not limited to physical appearance. She believes that people’s understanding of being fit can differ depending on their individual needs.

ā€œThe definition of fitness varies for everyone. It’s not about looking a certain way, but keeping your overall health in check. Fitness for me is non-negotiable,ā€ Vrushika said.

Vrushika Mehta calls dance her therapy

Despite the changes in her lifestyle, one thing that remains closely connected to Mehta is dance.

The actor has long been associated with dance, and she described it as an important emotional outlet. Canada’s winter weather has even become an opportunity for her to combine her love of music and dance.

ā€œDance is a therapy for me. Whenever it starts snowing here, I put on music and dance, imagining myself in a Bollywood movie,ā€ Mehta said.

Her comments underline the role dance continues to play in her life beyond her professional work.

Her skincare routine focuses on hydration and Korean skincare

Mehta has also adjusted her beauty routine while living in Canada.

As a lifestyle content creator, she views skincare as part of a broader approach to wellbeing rather than simply relying on cosmetic products.

ā€œHydration is the most important part of skincare, and I swear by Korean skincare products because they work for me,ā€ she said.

Her approach combines hydration with the skincare products she personally finds suitable for her routine.

Vrushika Mehta describes herself as a ā€˜one-woman army’

Building a career as a content creator in Canada has required Mehta to take responsibility for several aspects of her work herself.

She described herself as a ā€œone-woman armyā€, explaining that she manages her content creation while also handling her everyday responsibilities.

ā€œI have to do everything on my own while managing my content creation,ā€ she said.

One of the practical challenges she encounters is the limited daylight during Canadian winters.

ā€œThe biggest challenge I face here is daylight, as it gets dark after 4:30 pm in Canada during winters,ā€ Mehta explained.

This becomes particularly relevant because much of her content involves visual shoots, including outdoor work.

Sarees remain a favourite for her outdoor shoots

Despite adapting to life in Canada, Mehta continues to incorporate elements of Indian fashion into her content.

She said she particularly enjoys shooting outdoors when she is dressed in a saree. The contrast between traditional Indian clothing and the Canadian surroundings has become part of her content-creation journey.

From television actor to social media creator, Mehta’s career has therefore evolved alongside her personal life. Her experience in Canada has required her to balance independence, household responsibilities, fitness, beauty and creative work while staying connected with the audience that has followed her since her television days.
