Indiaās medal campaign gathered further momentum on Day 5 of the Asian Games 2026, with Roshibina Devi winning silver in womenās 60kg wushu and Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal securing bronze in mixed team skeet.
India added to its medal haul on Day 5 of the Asian Games 2026 as athletes from wushu, rowing and shooting contributed to a busy day of competition.
The day began with a podium finish for Naorem Roshibina Devi, who claimed the silver medal in the womenās 60kg wushu category after losing her final against Chinaās Xiaoyu Zhang. The result gives Roshibina her third successive Asian Games medal.
India also celebrated a bronze medal in rowing, with Satnam Singh and Salman Khan finishing third in the menās double sculls final.
Another medal arrived from the shooting range when Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal secured bronze in the mixed team skeet competition.
The results came alongside several notable performances across athletics, squash, table tennis, swimming and canoe sprint.
Roshibina Devi wins silver in womenās 60kg wushu
Roshibina Devi finished Day 5 with a silver medal in the womenās 60kg wushu competition.
The Indian faced Chinaās Xiaoyu Zhang in the final but could not secure the gold medal. Despite the defeat, the silver continues Roshibinaās record of reaching the podium at three consecutive Asian Games.
Her latest medal adds another significant result to Indiaās wushu campaign at the 2026 Games.
Satnam Singh and Salman Khan take rowing bronze
Indiaās medal tally also increased in rowing.
Satnam Singh and Salman Khan won the bronze medal in the menās double sculls final, giving India another podium finish on Day 5.
Earlier in the rowing programme, Balraj Panwar finished fourth in the menās singles sculls final.
India also had a difficult result in the womenās four final, where Gurbani Kaur, Aleena Anto, Tendenthoi Haobijam and Poonam finished at the bottom of the field.
Naruka and Dhaliwal win mixed team skeet bronze
Shooting produced another Indian medal through the mixed team skeet event.
Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal won bronze, adding another medal to Indiaās Day 5 tally.
The result contrasted with Indiaās performance in the menās 10m air pistol team event. Kamaljeet, Kedarling Balakrishna and Aakash Bhardwaj finished fourth with a combined score of 1727. None of the three Indian shooters progressed to the individual final.
Anahat Singh makes winning start in squash
Indiaās young squash player Anahat Singh began her Asian Games campaign with a strong victory.
Anahat defeated Malaysiaās Au Yeong Wai Lynn to advance to the womenās singles quarter-finals.
India also featured in the mixed doubles competition. Joshana Chinappa and Velavan Senthilkumar defeated Indian teammates Suraj Chand and Shameena Riaz 2-0 in the round of 16.
India through to mixed 4x400m relay final
Athletics brought another positive development for the Indian contingent.
India qualified for the mixed 4x400m relay final after finishing second in Heat 2.
The heptathlon also remained in progress, with Indian competitors Anamika Aneesh and Pooja continuing their campaigns. After the high jump, Anamika stood sixth with 1,771 points, while Pooja was ninth with 1,761 points.
Following the 100m hurdles, Pooja had been eighth and Anamika tenth in the standings.
Table tennis: Diya Chitale and Yashaswini Ghorpade advance
Indiaās womenās doubles pair Diya Chitale and Yashaswini Ghorpade moved through the Round of 32 after defeating Iranās Setayash Iloukhani and Mashid Ashtari.
Another Indian pair, Sreeja Akula and Syndrela Das, also began their womenās doubles campaign with a victory. They defeated Mongoliaās Bolor-Erdene Batmunkh and Burenjargal Sanjaa to progress.
In menās singles, Manush Shah opened his campaign with a 4-0 win over Malaysiaās Wong Qi Shen.
Canoe sprint sees mixed results for India
India had several competitors in action in canoe sprint.
Megha Pradeep finished fourth in the womenās canoe single 200m semi-final and did not qualify for the final.
In the womenās kayak double 500m semi-final, Soniya Devi and Parvathy Geetha finished last and were eliminated.
The Indian menās kayak four team of Naocha Laitonjam, Varinder Singh, Oinam Arun Singh and Harshawardhan Shaktawat finished sixth in the 500m final A.
In the menās canoe double 500m final, Raju Rawat and Gyaneshwor Singh Philem finished ninth.
Swimming: Beniston misses qualification
Indiaās Benedicton Beniston competed in the menās 50m butterfly heats.
He finished fifth in his heat and placed 12th overall, ending his bid to progress from the heats.

Day 5 therefore brought a combination of podium finishes and near misses for India.
Roshibina Deviās silver in wushu, Satnam Singh and Salman Khanās rowing bronze and the mixed team skeet bronze from Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal provided the dayās medal highlights.
At the same time, fourth-place finishes in rowing and shooting showed how narrow the margins can be at the Asian Games.
