Wamiqa Gabbi recently experienced a full-circle moment on Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18 when she found herself sitting on the show’s iconic hot seat opposite Amitabh Bachchan. For the actor, the appearance was more than just a television milestone. It brought back memories of her childhood, when she would watch the popular quiz show with her family.
Sharing a clip from her appearance, Wamiqa penned a heartfelt note about what the experience meant to her, especially with her parents present in the audience.
“KBC takes me straight back home…to being a little girl, sitting with my family, with absolutely no idea where life was going to take me. And then one day, I was sitting on that chair,” she wrote.

Wamiqa explained that the emotions truly sank in when Amitabh Bachchan sat down in front of her. Looking towards her family in the audience, she said she suddenly understood how far she had travelled from those childhood evenings in front of the television to actually becoming a contestant on the show.
“It didn’t fully hit me until @amitabhbachchan sir sat down in front of me… and I looked over at my family in the audience. And suddenly, I saw it. Us then… sitting together in front of the TV, and us now… somehow inside it,” she wrote.
She described the distance between the family sofa at home and the KBC hot seat as feeling like “an entire lifetime,” capturing the significance of the moment for her.

Wamiqa also reflected on how professional achievements can become shared experiences for families, particularly for people who have grown up watching such milestones from the other side of the television screen.
“Yeh baat mere fellow middle-class families shayad sabse zyada samajh paayenge… kuch moments sirf aapke nahi hote… poore parivaar ke hote hain,” she wrote.
Explaining the sentiment in English, she said some moments do not belong only to the individual but to the entire family.
According to Wamiqa, although there was only one person on the hot seat that day, she felt as though her whole family was there with her. She ended the note by calling life unpredictable and beautiful.
Amitabh Bachchan Reassures Wamiqa Gabbi’s Parents

“Sir, I’ve been working for so many years. I was trying to do a good job. But my dad always used to say this. When I worked with Jaya ma’am, he said, ‘Now you’re working,’” she said.
Amitabh then addressed Wamiqa’s parents in the audience and offered reassurance, saying, “Sir, don’t worry. She’s a very good artist. I’ve got all her reports.”
