The saree came with a special connection for Sonakshi. According to her Instagram post, it was sent to her by Huma Qureshi from her fashion brand LiveFree.
Tagging both Huma and the brand, Sonakshi wrote, “@iamhumaq sent me this from her new brand @livefreefall… its stunning!!!”
The two actresses have shared the screen in Double XL, and their friendship has continued beyond their professional collaboration.
Sonakshi’s post also included a playful question for her followers. She hinted that the saree look could feature in a video on her YouTube channel and asked fans whether they would like to see the complete look there.

For her wedding ceremony on June 23, 2024, Sonakshi wore an ivory Chikankari saree that had belonged to her mother, Poonam Sinha. According to details shared around the wedding, the saree was around 44 years old and featured delicate hand-embroidered Chikankari work on pure silk georgette.
The choice carried a strong family connection, with Sonakshi opting to wear her mother’s saree for the intimate ceremony in Mumbai.
For the wedding reception, she changed into a vibrant crimson-red Banarasi silk saree from Raw Mango, the label founded by designer Sanjay Garg. The saree, known as the “Chand Buta,” was crafted from Katan silk and featured gold motifs and a zari border.
She accessorised that bridal look with an emerald-and-gold choker, jhumkas and traditional red chura bangles.
