“Why should I have a public announcement? I’ve always kept my personal and professional lives apart. Not that I want to hide them, am scared or embarrassed of them. But I’ve refrained from making announcements,” she said.
The actor added that issuing an official press release or sharing a carefully selected collection of wedding photographs did not feel natural to her.
“I think it’s personal, and I’d want to keep it like that. It feels very weird to put out a press note or a deck of photos and videos,” Taapsee explained.
Her comments underline a distinction she has maintained throughout her career: being a public figure does not necessarily mean every aspect of her personal life needs to be publicly documented.

Taapsee and Mathias had been together for several years before reportedly getting married on March 23, 2024.
The wedding took place in Udaipur in an intimate ceremony attended by family members and close friends. Reports said the celebrations incorporated both Sikh and Christian traditions.
Among the names associated with the wedding celebrations were actors Pavail Gulati and Anurag Kashyap, along with filmmaker and writer Kanika Dhillon.
The couple reportedly wanted the ceremony to remain away from the public spotlight, with guests asked not to share pictures or videos from the celebrations.

Despite efforts to maintain privacy, videos from the wedding celebrations eventually circulated online.
One of the clips showed Taapsee dressed in a red bridal outfit as she walked down the aisle accompanied by her sister and friends.
The appearance of the footage reportedly left Taapsee uncomfortable. Reflecting on the situation, she described the leak as “very embarrassing.”
She also offered her thoughts on how private wedding content could have reached social media despite the couple’s request.
“That happens with people who’re not invited by you, but by your family,” she said.
Her comment appeared to point towards the different circles of guests attending a large family celebration, where not everyone may have approached the request for privacy in the same way.
